With a strong reputation for excellence and a collaborative team culture, the firm is seeking an experienced Special Counsel / Associate Director to join its high-performing Banking & Finance team.
The Opportunity
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a senior lawyer to take a leadership role within a growing national practice. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and top-tier clients, managing complex financial transactions, advising on regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior lawyers.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage sophisticated banking and finance transactions, including loan agreements, financing arrangements and compliance matters
• Provide expert legal advice on banking and finance regulations and industry standards
• Draft, review and negotiate complex legal documents related to financial transactions
• Conduct due diligence to identify and mitigate legal risks
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering commercially astute and tailored legal solutions
• Collaborate with directors, associates and the broader legal team to drive the success of the practice
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers and graduates
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
• A minimum of 6 years’ PQE in Banking & Finance Law, with strong experience in PEXA transactional work
• Proven experience in complex financial transactions and regulatory advisory work
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
• A proactive, client-focused mindset with high attention to detail
• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
