An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented Building & Construction Associate (3–5 years’ PAE) to join a growing, high-performing Construction & Infrastructure practice within a well-regarded commercial law firm.
This role offers direct mentoring from senior leaders in the team and strong exposure to complex back-end construction disputes, along with opportunities to develop front-end advisory experience. It is ideal for an ambitious lawyer seeking structured career progression within a genuinely supportive and collaborative environment.
Working as part of a specialist Construction & Infrastructure team within a broader Commercial Disputes practice, you will act for a diverse client base across both private and public sectors, including:
Principals and developers
Builders and contractors
Consultants
High-net-worth individuals
You will take ownership of matters (with appropriate supervision), managing files from start to finish and gaining hands-on exposure to:
Litigation in courts and tribunals
Expert determinations
SOPA adjudications (for both claimants and respondents)
Briefing and liaising with counsel and technical experts
Preparing evidence and managing technical expert reports
There will also be opportunities to assist with front-end matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts and advising on project delivery issues.
You will bring:
3–5 years’ post-admission experience in building, construction & infrastructure law
Strong experience in construction disputes
Sound knowledge of court and tribunal practice and procedure
Experience with Security of Payment legislation and adjudications
Familiarity with standard form construction contracts
Experience working with building experts and technical reports
A commercial, client-focused approach
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior lawyers
Candidates with some front-end construction experience will be highly regarded.
