About the Role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Associate or Senior Associate to join a growing Government and Commercial Law team. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on complex government projects, contracts, and commercial matters. You will engage across public sector infrastructure projects, procurement, probity, and grant programs.

This role blends public sector engagement with commercial legal work and is ideal for a lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Government Commercial Advisory: Provide strategic legal advice on procurement processes, contract negotiation, and compliance with public sector frameworks.

  • Infrastructure & Major Projects: Support legal aspects of infrastructure development and delivery.

  • Grant Program Support: Advise on the design, implementation, and administration of grant programs.

  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Prepare, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements.

  • Probity: Act as probity advisor on major government projects, advising on conflicts of interest and related issues.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government departments to deliver legally sound and commercially viable outcomes.

  • Policy & Legislative Input: Contribute to the development and interpretation of policies, guidelines, and legislation relevant to government and commercial operations.


About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ PQE in government, administrative, or commercial law, ideally with exposure to public sector clients or infrastructure projects.

  • Solid understanding of commercial contracting, procurement frameworks, and risk management principles.

  • Experience advising on infrastructure, grant programs, or major commercial initiatives, including contract negotiation and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, keen eye for detail, and commitment to excellence.

  • Security clearance is desirable, or ability to obtain one.
