Location: Brisbane CBD (with exposure to national transactions)
Work Type: Full Time
Salary/Classification: Legal – Property Law / Corporate & Commercial Law
Join a premier, award-winning law firm that genuinely prioritises culture, career progression, and work-life balance. Consistently recognised as an Employer of Choice, this firm is celebrated for its commitment to gender equality, diversity, and pro bono initiatives.
You will join a high-performing Queensland Property and Projects practice led by industry-leading Partners. The team acts for a prestigious mix of international and domestic clients, including ASX-listed real estate investment trusts, major commercial property owners, hotel and resort owners, and pioneering renewable energy developers.
What sets this role apart is the sheer variety of work. You won’t just be handling standard property law; you will be at the absolute forefront of the energy transition, working on cutting-edge wind, solar, battery, and waste-to-hydrogen projects.
This is a unique, hybrid-style property and corporate/finance role offering a clear pathway for career advancement. You will work closely with senior lawyers who are passionate about mentoring, while also stepping into a leadership space by guiding the team’s talented junior lawyers.
Key responsibilities and deal exposure will include:
Capital Transactions: Drafting and negotiating sale and purchase agreements for significant commercial, industrial, retail, and resort real estate acquisitions and disposals.
Energy Transition & Projects: Handling land acquisitions, complex tenure arrangements, and environmental offset agreements for major renewable energy and carbon sequestration projects.
Property Development: Navigating complex titling and community titles schemes for residential and commercial developments.
Project & Corporate Finance: Advising on project financing, corporate financing, and personal property security transactions.
Regulatory & Advisory: Providing Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval advice, project structuring, and drafting infrastructure agreements.
The ideal candidate is an ambitious lawyer with 2–4 years of post-admission experience (PAE) who possesses strong commercial acumen and excellent drafting skills.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Strong experience in commercial property transactions (exposure to renewable energy, project finance, or corporate M&A will be highly regarded).
The ability to run files autonomously while working collaboratively alongside senior practitioners on high-value, complex matters.
A natural inclination for leadership, with a keen interest in mentoring and developing junior team members.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to manage client relationships directly and a desire to participate in industry events and business development.
Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
This firm strongly believes that its people are its greatest asset and offers an environment where you can meet both your personal and business development goals.
True Flexibility: "Dress for your day" policy, flexible working hours, and family-friendly policies including purchased leave, career breaks, and study leave.
Supportive Environment: Regular structured team meetings to discuss workflow, ensuring you are never left unsupported on a file.
Wellbeing Focus: Access to Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), regular health initiatives (flu vaccinations, blood drives), and an active social calendar.
Modern Office Culture: A collaborative, modern working environment where professional development is genuinely funded and encouraged.
If you are looking to elevate your career, diversify your property experience into the booming renewables sector, and work within a supportive, top-tier environment, we want to hear from you.
