About the Role We are currently partnering with a premier, rapidly expanding law firm to secure a talented Senior Associate to join their Gold Coast practice in Ashmore, QLD. This is a dynamic, dual-stream role offering a balanced mix of front-end commercial advisory work and back-end commercial litigation. Reporting directly to a highly regarded Practice Director, you will step into a leadership position within a firm experiencing a major national growth phase. This role is built for a senior practitioner who thrives on variety, values direct client interaction, and wants a clear, fast-tracked pathway to Partnership without the rigid constraints of a traditional top-tier firm.
Key Responsibilities
Dual-Stream Practice: Act seamlessly across both front-end commercial advisory files and back-end commercial dispute resolution.
Commercial Advisory: Draft, review, and negotiate a sophisticated range of commercial contracts, share purchase agreements, corporate governance documents, and business structuring advices.
Commercial Litigation: Manage high-value commercial disputes from inception through to resolution, including interlocutory applications, complex trials, and alternative dispute resolution across various jurisdictions.
Carriage & Client Ownership: Take full carriage of complex matters from Day 1, serving as the primary strategic advisor to an established portfolio of corporate and commercial clients.
Team Leadership: Play a pivotal role in mentoring, training, and developing junior solicitors and support staff within the Gold Coast office.
About You
Experience: 5–8+ years of Post-Admission Experience (PQE) spanning both commercial advisory and commercial litigation within an Australian private practice environment.
Technical Versatility: A strong dual-skill set with the ability to confidently pivot between meticulous contract drafting and robust court advocacy or litigation strategy.
Commercial & Financial Acumen: Exceptional business acumen with a proven ability to deliver practical, risk-mitigated solutions that protect clients' commercial interests.
