An outstanding opportunity exists for a talented Associate to join a Band 1 ranked Competition, Regulation & Trade team in Sydney. Recognised by peers and legal directories as one of the leading teams in the field, this practice works on Australia’s and the world’s most high-profile and complex competition, consumer law, and regulatory matters.
The Role
You’ll gain hands-on involvement across a diverse portfolio, including:
Advising on cartel and behavioural investigations, merger clearances and competition litigation
Providing strategic regulatory and consumer law advice to leading corporates
Working with clients across sectors including telecommunications, technology, energy, infrastructure, transport, financial institutions, manufacturing, and retail
Managing complex, sensitive and high-value matters in collaboration with a strong national and global team
Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the practice
About You
We are seeking a motivated Associate with:
Solid experience in competition, consumer law, and/or regulatory work gained in private practice or a relevant regulator
Exposure to both advisory and contentious matters
Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent academic credentials
The ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively
Strong client relationship skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
A genuine interest in the business and commercial drivers of clients across diverse industries
