The Opportunity

An established national commercial law firm is seeking a Projects & Construction Lawyer or Associate (2–4 years PQE) to join its busy and well-regarded Melbourne team.

This role offers exposure to high-quality front-end and back-end construction matters, working closely with senior practitioners on a diverse portfolio of projects, infrastructure and construction work. The team acts for a broad client base including head contractors, developers, consultants and subcontractors across Australia.

You will be challenged, supported and mentored as you continue to develop your technical expertise and commercial judgement, with access to a strong CLE program and opportunities to collaborate nationally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating construction and related commercial contracts

  • Advising on project delivery, risk allocation and procurement

  • Supporting dispute resolution and litigation matters (front-end and back-end)

  • Providing clear, commercially focused legal advice to clients

  • Managing matters efficiently and meeting competing deadlines


About You

You will ideally have:

  • 2–4 years PQE as an admitted lawyer in projects and construction

  • Experience in both front-end and back-end construction work (front-end desirable)

  • Strong academic background and sound technical legal skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to learn and grow
