Senior Associate / Special Counsel – Corporate Advisory (Private M&A)

A highly regarded national law firm is seeking an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate or Special Counsel level) to join its growing Melbourne Corporate Advisory team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with strong Private M&A experience who is looking to take on a more strategic role in transactions, work closely with key clients, and further develop their practice within a collaborative and well-resourced environment.


The Opportunity

You will join a well-established Corporate Advisory team known for delivering commercially astute advice across:

  • Private M&A transactions

  • Public M&A (desirable)

  • Equity Capital Markets (desirable)

  • Cross-border investments and transactions

  • Corporations Act and corporate governance advice

  • General corporate and commercial matters

The team advises a broad client base, including domestic and international organisations across sectors such as energy & resources, aviation, logistics, telecommunications, technology, healthcare, biotech, aged care and retail.

This role offers genuine scope to:

  • Lead key aspects of transactions

  • Work directly with sophisticated clients

  • Play an active role in growing client relationships

  • Further develop technical and leadership capability

  • Receive recognition for any existing client following (not required)


About You

You will have:

  • 5+ years’ PQE in corporate/commercial law from a reputable firm

  • Demonstrated strength in Private M&A transactions

  • Strong drafting and technical skills

  • A commercial, solutions-focused mindset

  • Confidence running matters and managing stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
