Cyber & Data Breach Lawyer | 0–3 PAE | Sydney or Melbourne

The Opportunity
This role is perfect for a junior lawyer with exposure to commercial litigation, financial lines, or cyber risk—and a genuine interest in the dynamic world of data security and privacy regulation. You’ll advise both insurers and insureds across cyber incidents, breach response, coverage advice and recoveries, with access to structured training and clear progression.
What You'll Do
Manage cyber incident response matters alongside experienced mentors
Liaise with clients, experts, and stakeholders during live breach events
Advise on privacy risks, regulatory reporting, and legal notification obligations
Draft advice to insurers and insureds on cyber coverage and risk exposure
Support matters involving potential class actions, disputes, and investigations
Play a role in knowledge development and client education on cyber risks
About You
0–3 years’ PAE, ideally with exposure to cyber, insurance or commercial litigation
Strong drafting and problem-solving skills
A passion for emerging technology, data privacy and incident management
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
Organised, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-evolving legal space
