Lawyer – Workplace Relations & Employment | 1–3 Years PQE
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lawyer with 1–3 years' post-qualification experience to join a high-performing Workplace Relations & Employment team. Due to continued growth, this role offers the chance to work on a broad range of employment, industrial relations, discrimination, and work health and safety matters for a diverse client base, including large private sector organisations and government clients.
This position is based in Sydney CBD and offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements within a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional development and long-term career growth.
About the Role
Working alongside experienced employment lawyers, you will advise and represent employer clients across a wide variety of workplace law matters. The role offers exposure to complex and interesting work while providing structured mentoring, ongoing learning opportunities, and a clear pathway for career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employer clients on employment, workplace relations, industrial relations, discrimination, and work health and safety matters.
- Draft employment-related documentation, policies, and correspondence.
- Assist with workplace investigations, disputes, and litigation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, commercial advice.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team while managing your own matters effectively.
- Prioritise competing deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- 1–3 years' PQE with experience in employment and industrial law, ideally gained in private practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of employment and workplace relations legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a genuine passion for workplace law.
- Strong client service skills and a commercial mindset.
- The ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership of your matters.
