About the Role
A leading national law firm is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join its Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, complex employment matters for major clients across diverse industries.
You’ll work closely with senior legal experts and be involved in a broad range of work, including:
Drafting, reviewing, and advising on employment contracts, policies, and procedures
Advising on industrial relations and enterprise bargaining negotiations
Providing strategic guidance on workplace issues, including performance management, grievances, and terminations
Interpreting legislation such as the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth)
Supporting and managing litigation matters, including unfair dismissal, general protections, and contractual disputes
Mentoring and developing junior lawyers and graduates
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates with:
4–6 years post-admission experience in employment law (private practice or in-house)
Strong knowledge of employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks
Experience appearing in major courts
Excellent drafting and communication skills
The ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
