As a key member of the Melbourne team, you will act primarily for a sophisticated employer client base, including ASX-listed entities, multinational corporations, and government bodies. Your practice will be diverse, high-impact, and intellectually stimulating.
Key responsibilities include:
Advisory & Strategy: Managing post-employment restraints, organizational change, and complex workplace investigations.
Dispute Resolution: Handling unfair/unlawful dismissals, industrial disputes, and discrimination claims.
Industrial Relations: Navigating enterprise bargaining and Fair Work Act compliance.
Safety & Compliance: Advising on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and bullying/harassment matters.
Client Engagement: Maintaining high-level client relationships and contributing to firm growth through networking, seminars, and industry publications.
We are seeking a commercially minded lawyer with 3+ years Post-Admission Experience (PAE) within a well-regarded employment practice.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of the Fair Work Act, industrial relations, restraint of trade, and WHS.
Leadership: Experience in delegating to and mentoring junior practitioners.
Business Acumen: A strong understanding of the "business of law," including efficient matter management and billing practices.
