Employment Law Associate/SA

We are working with a global law firm to recruit a talented employment lawyer to join their highly regarded Employment, Workplace Relations & Safety team in Brisbane. This opportunity sits within a top-tier practice that advises major private and public sector employers on complex employment matters, disputes, and advisory work across a range of industries.

The Opportunity
This role offers exposure to a diverse, high-quality mix of matters, including:

  • Workplace investigations and employee misconduct issues

  • Employment disputes, unfair dismissal and general protections claims

  • Enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes

  • Drafting and advising on executive contracts, policies, and workplace frameworks

  • Managing issues involving whistleblower protections, underpayment claims, and regulatory compliance

  • Supporting large corporates, government clients, and listed entities across sectors such as energy, health, higher education, and infrastructure

You will work closely with two well-regarded partners who are known for their deep public sector expertise, strong client relationships, and collaborative, mentoring-focused leadership style. One partner has a national reputation for enterprise bargaining and industrial strategy; the other is known for navigating sensitive employment disputes and regulatory matters with precision and commerciality.

About You

  • 3+ years’ post-admission experience in employment or industrial relations law

  • A background in a well-regarded employment practice, ideally with experience in litigation, bargaining, or workplace investigations

  • Strong drafting and advisory skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work closely with clients on sensitive matters

  • A collaborative, proactive, and commercial mindset
