A well-regarded national law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Employment Lawyer to join its thriving workplace relations team in Sydney. This is a dynamic and broad practice where you'll work on a diverse client base across multiple sectors and industries. This role offers exposure to a full range of employment and industrial relations matters in a supportive, collegiate environment. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and in-house teams across various industries, delivering strategic advice and legal solutions.
As a key member of the team, you will:
Provide day-to-day guidance to HR and legal teams on employment law issues
Represent clients in unfair dismissal, discrimination, sexual harassment, and underpayment claims
Advise on enterprise bargaining, award interpretation, and industrial relations strategy
Assist with workplace health and safety incidents and compliance
Draft employment contracts, workplace policies, and settlement agreements
Conduct independent workplace investigations and facilitate training sessions
Support M&A transactions by advising on employment-related aspects
Lead and mentor junior team members and contribute to practice development
You will be a confident and experienced practitioner who enjoys variety, responsibility, and client engagement. Ideal candidates will have:
A current NSW practising certificate and 4+ years’ post-admission experience
Solid grounding in both employment advisory and workplace disputes
Experience managing matters independently from end to end
Excellent drafting, analytical and client communication skills
An interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team growth
A commercial mindset and ability to build strong client relationships
