We are partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Lawyer or Senior Associate to join their dynamic Labour, Employment & Workplace Safety practice in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a national and global team advising a broad range of clients on complex, high-profile employment, industrial relations, and workplace safety matters.
About the Role
Working alongside experienced partners and lawyers, you will handle a diverse mix of advisory, transactional, and litigious employment law matters. Your responsibilities will include:
Representing employers in employment disputes including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protections claims
Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, executive arrangements, service agreements, and workplace policies
Advising on compliance with employment laws and strategies to achieve client objectives
Litigating in State and Federal Courts, Tribunals, and Commissions, and engaging in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and conciliation
Assisting with workplace health and safety investigations and advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions, insolvency, and business restructuring
Developing and delivering internal and external employment law training programs
Supporting business development and client relationship activities
About You
4–7 years’ post-qualification experience in employment and workplace safety law, preferably gained in a respected law firm
Proven experience across a broad spectrum of employment law issues, from advisory to litigation
Strong commercial acumen and ability to provide practical, client-focused solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
A collaborative team player with a proactive approach and commitment to exceptional client service
