About the Team

You’ll be joining a well-regarded national Workplace Relations & Safety group, led by partners recognised as leaders in their field. The Melbourne team is part of a broader national practice with offices across major Australian cities, offering access to top-tier resources and cross-jurisdictional matters.

About the Role

As an Employment Lawyer, you’ll act primarily for employers across a diverse range of industries — including health and aged care, professional services, property and construction, financial services, hospitality, retail, technology and government.


You’ll advise and represent clients on matters such as:

  • Post-employment restraints

  • Unfair and unlawful dismissal

  • Industrial disputes and enterprise bargaining

  • Workplace investigations

  • Workplace health and safety

  • Discrimination, bullying and harassment issues

  • Compliance with workplace laws and organisational change strategies


You’ll have opportunities to develop strong client relationships, contribute to business development activities, prepare publications, and participate in client events.


About You

You will bring:

  • 2–4 years’ post-admission experience in employment and industrial relations law

  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail

  • A solid understanding of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work Act

  • Experience advising on employment disputes, contracts, discrimination, restraints of trade and WHS matters

  • A commercial mindset with experience in matter management, billing and client liaison

  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to mentor junior lawyers and contribute positively to team culture


You’ll enjoy working closely with clients, providing practical and strategic advice, and continuing to learn under experienced senior lawyers.
