Employee Relations | Litigation & Advisory | 2+ PQE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Employment Lawyer / Associate to join a reputable and growing commercial law practice in Brisbane. You’ll work closely with an experienced senior practitioner in the employment and workplace relations space, handling a diverse mix of advisory and contentious work for commercial, government, and corporate clients.
This is a fantastic role for a lawyer who enjoys varied work, direct client engagement and being part of a collaborative team.
You will advise and represent clients on a wide range of employment and workplace relations matters, including:
Employment disputes and litigation
Workplace investigations and performance management issues
Industrial relations advisory work
Employee restraint and confidentiality matters
Redundancy, termination and unfair dismissal matters
Regulatory and compliance issues in employment law
You’ll be involved in both advisory and litigious work, contributing to strategic outcomes for clients while growing your skills in a trusted and supportive environment.
Providing clear, practical employment law advice to a diverse client base
Drafting advices, correspondence, court documents and settlement agreements
Assisting with workplace investigations and strategy
Representing clients in conferences, mediations and tribunals
Liaising with clients, counsel and other stakeholders
Working autonomously on files with senior oversight
Contributing to practice growth and client relationship development
To be successful in this role, you will have:
2+ years’ PQE in employment law or workplace relations
Strong drafting, analytical and advocacy skills
Experience in both advisory and litigious matters
A client-first approach with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver high-quality work
A collaborative team mindset and proactive attitude
Previous experience in private practice is strongly preferred.
