Senior Associate – Employment Law

We are working with a well-regarded, independent national law firm to find a Senior Associate to join their growing Employment & Industrial Relations team in Melbourne.

This is a rare opportunity to work with an award-winning firm that combines high-quality legal work, genuine flexibility, and a people-first culture. You’ll be joining a team that acts for national and international employers across the full spectrum of employment law — both advisory and litigious — including discrimination, industrial relations, WHS, privacy, and complex litigation matters.

What’s on Offer

  • Permanent, full-time position with genuine career progression

  • Hybrid and flexible working: work from home or in modern, open-plan offices

  • WFH support: IT equipment provided + up to $500 reimbursement for additional equipment

  • Competitive remuneration and transparent reward & recognition frameworks

  • Up to 26 weeks paid parental leave and a range of flexible leave options

  • Ongoing learning & development programs at all levels

  • Daily breakfast, office drinks, and regular social events

  • Strong focus on diversity & inclusion, health and wellbeing, and pro bono/community work

The Role

You’ll work closely with a collaborative team of senior lawyers on a mix of high-profile matters, including:

  • Advising on complex employment law and industrial relations matters

  • Drafting legal documents and client advice across a variety of issues

  • Managing a portfolio of matters and maintaining regular client contact

  • Participating in complex litigation matters including general protections claims, unfair dismissals, discrimination and restraint matters

  • Conducting discovery and preparing legal documentation

About You

We’re seeking a talented and driven lawyer who can demonstrate:

  • At least 5 years post-admission experience in employment and industrial relations law

  • Experience at a leading national or specialist employment law firm

  • Strong technical, drafting, and analytical skills with high attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A client-first mindset, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships

  • Confidence working both independently and within a collaborative team
