Energy Lawyer to SA 2-8 PQE

The Opportunity

A leading international law firm is seeking Lawyers to join its Energy Transition and Projects team, supporting clients through the procurement, development, and delivery of major energy infrastructure. This includes work on power purchase agreements, regulatory advisory, and carbon market developments, as well as broader energy transition and climate-related projects.

You will be part of a nationally integrated team, working across major projects involving both established and emerging technologies in the renewable energy and climate-tech space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on commercial and regulatory aspects of renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

  • Drafting and negotiating key project documentation, including power purchase and joint venture agreements.

  • Supporting clients in navigating evolving energy regulations and carbon markets.

  • Collaborating with senior lawyers and cross-jurisdictional teams on complex and high-profile matters.

  • Engaging with key industry stakeholders and contributing to thought leadership in the energy transition space.

About You:

  • 3+ years post-admission experience in energy, projects, infrastructure, or construction law, gained at a reputable law firm or in-house legal team.

  • Experience in energy and resources transactions or major project delivery is highly regarded.

  • Exceptional drafting and verbal communication skills, with a plain-English approach to legal writing.

  • A proactive, collaborative, and commercially aware mindset.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
