A premier national law firm is looking for a high-calibre Senior Associate to join its market-leading Energy & Infrastructure team in Sydney. With a reputation for innovation and technical excellence, this team is at the forefront of Australia’s clean energy transition, advising across the lifecycle of large-scale renewable, storage and infrastructure projects.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside some of the country's most respected energy and infrastructure specialists on complex and high-impact matters involving solar, wind, battery storage, transmission infrastructure, hydrogen and PPP projects.

Advise developers, financial institutions, sponsors and government stakeholders on cutting-edge energy and infrastructure mandates
Act across all phases of project delivery: structuring, procurement, financing, approvals and acquisitions
Deep involvement in renewable energy, grid connection, planning/environmental, regulatory reform and joint venture structuring
Collaborate across national offices and with sector leaders on sophisticated cross-border deals
High-performing team that values collaboration, innovation and practical problem solving
The Role Includes:
Leading client workstreams and managing commercial negotiations across front-end project matters
Advising on regulatory strategy, ESG considerations, and market reform
Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, PPAs, EPCs and joint venture documentation
Coordinating with government authorities, planners, consultants and financiers
Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the team's continued growth and profile
About You:
6+ years’ post-admission experience, ideally in front-end projects, energy regulation, infrastructure, or major transactions
Excellent drafting skills, commercial acumen and the ability to handle sophisticated client demands
Strong interest in renewables and infrastructure reform
Collaborative and curious mindset, with a commitment to mentoring and continuous learning
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, highly strategic environment
