The Opportunity
An outstanding opportunity exists for a Solicitor or Senior Associate to join the Band 1 ranked Finance team of a leading international law firm, based in Sydney. This premier practice is recognised for advising on some of the most complex and high-profile finance transactions across the market.
You will work closely with highly regarded partners whose practices span corporate finance, property finance, leveraged and acquisition finance. Acting for a diverse client base—including major Australian listed companies, wholesale REITs and leading financial institutions (including the major banks)—you will gain exposure to transactions that shape the market.
The Role
As part of this top-tier finance team, your responsibilities will include:
Advising on complex financing arrangements, including corporate, property, leveraged and acquisition finance
Acting for both borrowers and lenders on large-scale transactions
Drafting, negotiating and reviewing finance documents with precision and commerciality
Collaborating with colleagues across finance, real estate and corporate groups to deliver integrated solutions
Engaging with major domestic and international clients to build strong and lasting relationships
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
At least 3 years’ post-admission experience in finance law, ideally gained at a top-tier, national or international firm
Strong academic results coupled with excellent technical and drafting skills
A commercial mindset with the ability to deliver practical, client-focused solutions
The confidence to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a high-performing team
Outstanding communication skills and an interest in mentoring and contributing to team culture
