Lawyer – Superannuation & Financial Services Regulation

We’re partnering with a premier national law firm to recruit a talented lawyer to join their highly respected Funds, Superannuation & Financial Services (FSF) practice in Sydney. This team is recognised as a leader in complex regulatory work across the superannuation, insurance, and financial services sectors, working with many of Australia’s most prominent financial institutions.
About the Role
You will work closely with experienced partners and a collaborative national team on some of the most interesting and sophisticated regulatory matters in the market. Your role will include:
Advising major super funds, wealth platforms, life insurers, and banks on SIS Act, Corporations Act (Chapter 7), ASIC Act, and APRA Prudential Standards
Supporting clients on major regulatory investigations and enforcement actions involving ASIC and APRA
Advising on superannuation fund mergers and significant financial services transactions
Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including distribution, outsourcing, and platform arrangements
Collaborating with the M&A team on financial services-related transactions
Advising clients on licensing, conduct, disclosure, and ongoing regulatory obligations
This is a permanent full-time role with hybrid and flexible working options available.
About You
You are a commercially astute lawyer with:
2–6 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in a top-tier private practice or high-calibre in-house environment
Exposure to superannuation and/or broader financial services regulatory matters
Strong interest in specialising in financial services regulation and deepening technical expertise
Excellent legal drafting, analysis, and communication skills
A growth mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring, learning, and collaboration
