Senior Litigation Lawyer – Government & Public Law
Location: Sydney, NSW
This leading national firm has a well-established and growing presence across both State and Commonwealth government clients, including appointment to the Whole of Australian Government Legal Services Panel. The firm’s dedicated government litigation team has deep expertise in public sector dispute resolution, Royal Commissions and inquiries, judicial and merits review, and regulatory investigations. As part of continued growth, the Sydney office is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Litigation Lawyer to join and help lead the team, working closely with key government clients.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior disputes lawyer to play a central role in the continued development and success of the government litigation practice. The team advises and represents government departments and agencies in a diverse range of disputes, including administrative law, tort claims, and regulatory matters. You will manage complex matters with a high degree of autonomy, while also providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members.
You will bring extensive experience as a litigator, ideally gained through working with or for public sector clients. Your background will include exposure to:
Dispute resolution and litigation involving government departments and agencies
Administrative law, including judicial and merits review
Royal Commissions, inquiries, and inquests
Tort and regulatory matters
You will be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s strategic growth and have the confidence and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships. A demonstrated record of business development success, and the ability to bring an existing network or client portfolio, will be highly regarded.
