A highly regarded Dispute Resolution & Litigation team in Melbourne is seeking an early-career disputes lawyer to join a dynamic, collaborative and high-performing practice. The team works across a diverse and intellectually engaging range of matters for listed entities, SMEs, major property groups, industry superannuation funds, insolvency practitioners, financiers, large family businesses, and state and federal government clients.
This is an opportunity to work alongside senior practitioners who are recognised leaders in their fields, gaining exposure to complex and high-profile litigation while being supported to grow technically and professionally.
You will join a large, dedicated team working on a significant and complex matter for the Commonwealth Government. The role offers close guidance from senior lawyers, exposure to sophisticated disputes, and the chance to take ownership of tasks while contributing to a broader team effort.
In addition to the Commonwealth matter, the wider practice advises on:
Commercial and corporate disputes
Property disputes
Large family trust disputes
Regulatory investigations and civil penalty proceedings
Insolvency-related litigation (administrations, liquidations and receiverships)
Retail, commercial and industrial leasing disputes
Shareholder oppression claims and class actions
Commercial crime matters, including fraud and anti-corruption
Government investigations, Royal Commissions and procurement disputes
You are a motivated and capable lawyer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
You will bring:
1–5 years’ post-admission experience in a commercial setting, ideally within a reputable litigation practice
Experience in general commercial disputes (government or investigations experience will be viewed favourably)
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines under pressure
Excellent analytical, research and drafting skills
The ability to communicate effectively and build trusted working relationships
