We are seeking an experienced and highly capable commercial disputes lawyer to join a well-regarded disputes team working on a critical and complex matter for the Commonwealth Government. This role offers direct client engagement and the opportunity to work within a large, national team focused on a high-profile, long-term matter.
You will be trusted to work autonomously while also contributing meaningfully to a collaborative team environment. In addition to the major Commonwealth matter, you will be involved in a diverse range of commercial and public law disputes.
Your work will include:
Acting for companies in regulatory investigations, including ACCC matters
Acting for government agencies in judicial review proceedings
Acting for corporate entities in regulatory dispute matters
Advising state and federal government clients across a range of contentious and advisory matters
You are a driven and engaged commercial disputes lawyer with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in your drafting and analytical skills, and value being part of a supportive and collaborative team.
You will also bring:
Experience operating at Associate level within a reputable commercial litigation practice
Strong capability in managing workflows under pressure and delegating effectively to lawyers and paralegals
Confidence engaging with government, corporate and individual clients, building trusted relationships
Excellent research, analytical and drafting skills
A genuine interest in mentoring and supporting junior lawyers
Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a Baseline Security Clearance
Experience in investigations or government disputes is advantageous, though strong commercial disputes experience is the key requirement.
