Government Litigation Lawyer/Associate
About the Opportunity
A leading national Australian law firm with more than 160 years of history is seeking a Lawyer, Associate or Senior Associate to join its high-performing Public Law team. The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established national Public Law practice advising a broad range of key government clients. You will be involved in providing advice, litigation and dispute resolution services across all aspects of public law, including:
Administrative decision-making
Freedom of Information (FOI)
Privacy
Merits review and judicial review proceedings
Litigation in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Federal Courts
You will work closely with recognised experts in the field and gain exposure to complex, high-profile matters within the government sector.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
1–8 years’ PQE gained within a reputable government litigation practice; or
Strong in-house government experience and a desire to transition into private practice
In addition, you will demonstrate:
Strong technical legal skills and well-developed advocacy capability
Experience working with government clients
The ability to manage client relationships with minimal supervision
A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior lawyers
