An exciting opportunity is available for a high-performing disputes lawyer to join a leading Brisbane litigation practice.
The Dispute Resolution & Litigation team is a dynamic, collaborative group with a strong pipeline of complex and high-profile matters. The team acts for state and federal government clients, regulated entities, listed companies and SMEs, offering lawyers exposure to varied and intellectually challenging work. Partners are recognised industry leaders, providing excellent mentoring and development opportunities.
This role suits an experienced disputes lawyer who enjoys working on large-scale, complex matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior practitioners and a national team of lawyers and paralegals on a critical Commonwealth Government matter.
The role involves direct client engagement and requires the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a large, coordinated team operating under pressure.
In addition to the key Commonwealth matter, work across the broader practice may include:
Acting for corporate regulators and companies in regulatory investigations and civil penalty proceedings
Acting for government agencies in judicial review proceedings
Advising corporate clients in regulatory dispute matters
Acting for state and federal governments on investigations, Royal Commissions, procurement disputes and advisory matters
You are a driven and engaged lawyer with a strong commitment to technical excellence and client service. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and take pride in mentoring and supporting junior lawyers.
You will bring:
Experience operating at Senior Associate level within a respected litigation practice
Strong commercial litigation background; experience in investigations and/or government disputes is advantageous
Proven ability to manage workflows, delegate effectively and meet competing deadlines
Confidence engaging with individual, corporate and government clients and building trusted relationships
Superior analytical, research and drafting skills
The ability to supervise, develop and motivate junior team members
Eligibility to hold a Baseline Security Clearance
