The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Insurance Litigation Lawyer with at least 1 year PQE to join a leading disputes practice in Melbourne. You’ll be part of one of Australia’s most respected litigation teams, working on complex and sensitive matters with the support of highly regarded senior lawyers.
The Role
You will gain hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of matters, including:
Defending medical malpractice claims brought against public health organisations, providers, and individuals in Victorian courts
Acting in public liability and personal injury claims for government departments, authorities, and community organisations
Representing clients in institutional liability matters, including allegations of abuse in care
Exposure to coronial inquests, common law claims, and medical negligence disputes
You will work closely with senior lawyers and receive structured mentoring, while taking on meaningful responsibility in the day-to-day management of files and court appearances.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
1+ years’ post-admission experience in litigation (insurance, medical malpractice, personal injury, WorkCover, or institutional liability desirable)
Strong technical skills in drafting, research, and analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first mindset
The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced practice
