WorkCover Associate / Senior Associate | 3–5+ PQE | Melbourne
A highly regarded insurance and compensation team is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate with experience in defendant WorkCover matters to join their Melbourne office. This role is ideal for a motivated and technically strong lawyer looking to deepen their expertise in a supportive, progressive environment.

You'll manage your own files, enjoy direct client contact, and be encouraged to build a leadership profile by mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to client relationships and business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage files across damages and statutory benefits litigation
Provide detailed advice and recommendations on serious injury, common law, and appeals
Prepare for and advocate at mediations, including Supreme and County Court proceedings
Conduct witness interviews and obtain expert evidence
Draft high-quality court documents and maintain adherence to procedural rules
Supervise junior lawyers and support their development
Time record, bill, and manage your matters efficiently
Skills & Experience
3–5+ years' post-admission experience in defendant WorkCover litigation at a panel firm
Strong technical skills and commercial judgement
Excellent drafting, communication and client engagement abilities
Capacity to manage deadlines and a diverse caseload
A collaborative approach and interest in mentoring others
Experience with litigation timeframes and court procedures
