A leading mid-sized insurance litigation firm is seeking experienced practitioners to join its highly regarded Recoveries Team. This specialist group acts for the Victorian WorkCover Authority, recovering compensation payments from negligent third parties and helping to ensure the long-term sustainability of the scheme that protects Victorian workers.
This role offers exposure to complex, high-quality litigation work for a sophisticated institutional client. The recoveries practice plays a critical role within the broader workers’ compensation framework, ensuring that funds are appropriately returned to the scheme so it can continue to support injured workers across Victoria.
You will work alongside experienced insurance litigators in a collaborative environment that values technical excellence, accountability, and fairness in the administration of justice.
The firm specialises in the defence of accident compensation claims and acts almost exclusively for defendants. Its work supports the integrity of the workers’ compensation system by ensuring that genuinely injured workers receive appropriate compensation, while maintaining the checks and balances required for the system to function effectively for all Victorian workers.
An experienced insurance litigation lawyer
Backgrounds in workers’ compensation, public liability, or broader insurance litigation are all welcome
Ideally 3+ years PQE, with strong interest from candidates at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level
Technically strong, commercially minded, and comfortable working with a sophisticated statutory client
