Firm: Leading Mid-Tier Insurance Specialist
Location: CBD (Hybrid - 2 days WFH)
Experience: 2–5 Years PQE
Billables: 6.5 hours (Quality > Quantity)
Are you a litigator who values empathy as much as technical strategy? This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected mid-tier firm within their specialized Institutional Abuse team.
Unlike the "churn and burn" of high-volume insurance shops, this role focuses on high-stakes panel matters for Government departments. You will handle sensitive, complex claims that require a sophisticated touch, all while being mentored 1:1 by a genuine industry leader.
True Autonomy: You aren't just a researcher. You will have full carriage of your own files from day one.
Mentorship: Work directly under a Partner known for their expertise and supportive leadership style.
Sustainability: A genuine 6.5 billable hour target ensures you have the headspace to do your best work without the burnout.
Market-Leading Benefits: Includes a modern hybrid model and an industry-topping 20-week paid parental leave policy.
File Management: Independently run a diverse portfolio of defendant abuse matters for Government and institutional clients.
Litigation Strategy: Draft pleadings, prepare evidence, and develop defense strategies for sensitive, non-standard claims.
High-Level Stakeholder Management: Provide clear, empathetic, and commercially savvy advice to Government departments and key stakeholders.
We are looking for a practitioner who understands the gravity of this practice area and possesses the "litigation grit" to manage it effectively.
2–5 years PQE in Insurance Litigation.
Solid defendant litigation experience is a non-negotiable requirement.
Prior experience in Institutional Abuse or Personal Injury is highly regarded but not essential if you have a strong general insurance background.
A compassionate communicator who can navigate the sensitivities of abuse claims while protecting the client's interests.
If you are looking for a firm that treats you like a professional—offering flexibility, manageable targets, and top-tier work—this is it.
