The Role
We are seeking an Associate to join our Insurance (Transport & Trade) team in Sydney on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work with a dynamic team acting for insurers, freight forwarders, corporations, and government authorities across shipping, marine, aviation, road, rail, and trade-related litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
Review files and advise clients on policies, coverage disputes, and liability assessments.
Handle claims arising from transport operations.
Prepare court documents, including statements of evidence.
Draft correspondence and communicate with other practitioners.
Appear before Court as required.
Maintain effective file management.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years PQE, with experience in cargo recoveries, liability claims, and policy indemnity disputes in the transport sector. Candidates with experience in subrogated property, property liability claims, or general litigation will also be considered.
You should bring:
A professional demeanour and excellent communication skills.
A strong commitment to client service.
The ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
A proven track record of meeting deadlines.
