The Opportunity
A global firm with a boutique feel is seeking an experienced Special Counsel to join its high-performing Labour & Employment team in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of advisory and litigation matters, alongside a collaborative team locally and globally.
The Role
You’ll act for leading Australian and multinational organisations on employment, industrial relations, and workplace health & safety issues. Key aspects of the role include:
Advising on complex workplace, IR and WHS matters
Acting in litigation before courts and tribunals
Supporting corporate transactions with employment-related advice
Working closely with colleagues across Australia and globally
Building and maintaining trusted client relationships
Contributing to team leadership, mentoring and business development
About You
We are seeking a commercially astute and technically strong employment lawyer who brings:
10+ years PQE in Labour & Employment law, gained in private practice (in-house or regulator/court experience also highly regarded)
Strong litigation and advisory experience, with corporate support exposure advantageous
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards
A collaborative, inclusive and down-to-earth working style
Strong client relationship skills, commercial acumen, and technical excellence
A proactive, self-motivated approach with high attention to detail
