About the Role
We are currently partnering with a highly respected, client-focused legal practice on the Gold Coast to secure an experienced, full-time Legal Assistant for their high-performing office in Ashmore, QLD.

This is a vital position within the firm’s core support team, where you will work side-by-side with accessible solicitors and senior staff. Your primary focus will be delivering top-tier administrative and clerical support, ensuring seamless file management and maintaining the high standard of professionalism this firm is known for. Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Administration: Provide comprehensive support to solicitors, including handling professional correspondence, file management, and organizing complex documentation.

  • Document Preparation: Prepare and format legal documents, letters, memoranda, court documents, and contract materials with meticulous accuracy.

  • Diary & Schedule Management: Coordinate appointment schedules, manage critical deadlines, and organize meetings between clients, solicitors, and external parties.

  • Communication & Liaison: Professionally manage telephone and email communications, liaising directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

  • Court Filings: Coordinate timely court filings and track procedural deadlines to ensure strict compliance.

  • Practice Support: Assist with basic legal research and work collaboratively with the office manager to maintain a productive, efficient workplace environment.

About You

  • Experience: Proven experience working as a legal secretary or assistant within an Australian private practice, with a solid grasp of legal procedures and terminology.

  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in legal software, case management systems, and standard office applications (Microsoft Office).

  • Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities under deadline.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional approach to client service.

  • Discretion: A high level of integrity with a demonstrated ability to maintain absolute confidentiality when handling sensitive client files.

  • Qualifications: A formal qualification or certification in legal secretarial, business administration, or paralegal studies is highly desirable but not essential.
