Commercial & Civil Disputes | Complex Litigation | 3–8+ PQE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Litigation Associate / Senior Associate to join a well-regarded litigation team in Sydney. You’ll work closely with highly experienced senior practitioners across a diverse range of civil and commercial disputes, with real opportunities for responsibility, advocacy and professional growth.
This role is ideal for a lawyer with strong litigation experience who is ready to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative, supportive environment.
In this role, you will contribute to all stages of litigation, including:
Commercial and contractual disputes
Complex civil litigation in NSW courts
Regulatory disputes
Case strategy, drafting and evidence preparation
Court appearances, interlocutory applications and advocacy
Negotiations, settlement discussions and ADR processes
You will work on compelling and commercially significant matters, assisting senior lawyers and engaging directly with clients and counsel.
Drafting pleadings, evidence, written submissions and advices
Running files with increasing autonomy
Advising clients on litigation strategy and risk management
Instructing and briefing counsel
Managing interlocutory steps and timelines efficiently
Participating in mediations, conferences and hearings
Supporting business development and client relationship management
To succeed in this role, you will have:
3–8+ years’ PQE in litigation or dispute resolution
Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
Experience appearing in court or before tribunals
A commercial, client-focused approach to problem solving
Confidence managing files with autonomy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A collaborative, positive team mindset
General commercial litigation experience in private practice is highly valued. Exposure to insurance, regulatory or statutory disputes is a bonus.
