An opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the firm’s busy Mortgage Recovery team based in the Sydney CBD. This role will see you managing a diverse caseload and providing high-quality legal advice across banking, finance, and commercial litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist legal advice and representation in banking, finance, and commercial litigation matters
Manage the day-to-day conduct of multiple files
Draft court documents including pleadings, affidavits, and applications
Attend court appearances and instruct counsel in various jurisdictions
Conduct legal research and prepare advice on mortgage law and regulatory requirements
Maintain regular client communication, advising on progress and strategy
Assist with mortgagee-in-possession sales and enforcement proceedings
Contribute to developing practical, commercial solutions to complex legal issues
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) and current Australian legal practising certificate
1–3 years’ post-admission experience, ideally within banking and finance, property, or commercial litigation
Strong legal drafting, analytical, and research skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
Ability to manage competing priorities and high volumes of work
Proactive, adaptable, and keen to develop specialist expertise in the finance and mortgage recovery sector
Demonstrated experience handling mortgage or finance-related matters
Strong client relationship management skills
High attention to detail and commitment to process-driven work
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple files
