An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented Associate (3–5 PQE) to join a leading defendant insurance practice in Melbourne. You’ll work closely with senior professionals on a diverse range of personal injury and general liability matters, representing some of the country’s largest insurers. This role offers the chance to build on your litigation expertise, manage substantive files, and develop your leadership skills within a collaborative, high-performing team.
The Role
In this position, you will:
Defend personal injury claims and general liability matters for major insurers.
Provide strategic legal advice and design effective defence strategies.
Manage high volumes of claims, delivering timely and cost-effective outcomes.
Conduct litigation including drafting pleadings, appearing in court, and leading settlement negotiations.
Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, fostering their professional development.
Build strong client relationships through tailored, solution-focused advice.
About You
We are seeking candidates who bring:
3–5 years PQE within a reputable defendant insurance practice, with a focus on personal injury and liability matters.
Demonstrated litigation experience including drafting, advocacy, and negotiation.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently.
A client-focused approach with excellent relationship management skills.
