The Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a leading specialist law firm to appoint a Planning & Environment Associate or Senior Associate to their high-performing team. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside industry-recognised experts and enjoy a broad, high-quality practice spanning public sector advisory, infrastructure, and complex planning matters.

The firm has a strong reputation in the market for its expertise in local and state government law, infrastructure funding, and environmental issues. You’ll work with an established and collegiate team servicing a long-standing government client base, while being supported by dedicated legal and business services staff.

Key Areas of Work
You will be exposed to a wide range of complex and interesting matters, including:

  • Planning and development projects across NSW

  • Infrastructure funding arrangements, planning agreements and developer contributions

  • Public sector land acquisitions (predominantly by agreement)

  • Environmental matters including biodiversity, threatened species, pollution and contamination

  • Public sector governance, procurement, and administrative law

  • Property and land matters involving Crown Land and Native Title

About You
We are seeking a technically strong and confident lawyer with:

  • 3–8 years’ post-admission experience in planning, environment or public law

  • Experience working with or advising government clients (preferred)

  • Excellent legal drafting, research and statutory interpretation skills

  • A collaborative and proactive mindset

  • The ability to work both autonomously and closely with experienced partners on high-value work
