About the Opportunity

Are you a Planning & Environment lawyer looking to fast-track your career alongside some of the market's leading legal minds?

A premier, national commercial law firm is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate (3–7 years PAE) to join their close-knit, high-performing Brisbane team.

What’s in it for You?

  • Elite Mentoring: Work directly with highly recognized market leaders—including a prominent Partner who is a qualified town planner and national industry board executive, alongside an exceptional Special Counsel.

  • Diverse, Premium Work: Gain hands-on experience across both front-end advisory and back-end litigation for a vast mix of private sector clients and all levels of government (local, state, and federal).

  • Modern Culture & Flexibility: Enjoy a newly renovated, centrally located Brisbane office equipped with great social spaces (including famous snack stations and team coffee days), "dress for your day" flexibility, and options for purchased leave or career breaks.

  • Award-Winning Environment: Join a firm consistently recognized as a WGEA Employer of Choice, highly ranked in Doyle’s Guide, and deeply committed to pro bono work, diversity, and social justice.

The Role & Practice Exposure

In this dynamic role, you will work across multiple matters and gain comprehensive exposure to:

  • Development strategy work and statutory planning tasks

  • Major infrastructure, environmental, and cultural heritage matters

  • Planning and Environment Court work (full litigation support and training provided)

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated lawyer with a healthy amount of drive and a genuine passion for this space. To be successful, you will have:

  • 3 to 7 years of post-admission experience gained within a well-regarded planning and environment team (either in private practice or government).

  • Exposure to planning and/or environmental law matters.

  • A strong desire to do Court work (prior litigation experience is a bonus, but a keen interest to learn is essential!).

  • An openness to challenge and growth, with a values set built on efficiency, integrity, and collaboration.
