Litigation – Associate / Senior Associate (Melbourne)

Experience: 3+ years PQE
We are seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join a leading national law firm’s Insurance team in Melbourne. This role focuses on Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers (D&O), and Liability, offering the opportunity to work on high-profile matters and collaborate with recognised experts in the field.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to expand or specialise in insurance litigation. Key responsibilities include:
Managing litigation files, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate documentation
Reviewing evidence and preparing advice on indemnity, liability, and quantum
Communicating with clients, counsel, and other practitioners both in writing and verbally
Identifying issues, briefing experts, and analysing opinions
Drafting court documents, including statements of evidence and correspondence
Preparing for and attending court and online proceedings
Supporting business development and fostering client relationships
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 3 years’ post-admission experience
Strong litigation experience, with insurance experience advantageous but not essential
Expertise in litigation, construction, or regulatory matters is welcome
Excellent prioritisation, initiative, attention to detail, and a proven track record of meeting deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
