Property Lawyer/Associate (Gold Coast/Melb)

Property Lawyer / Associate

About the Role We are currently partnering with a premier, rapidly expanding law firm to secure a talented Property Lawyer or Associate (2–5 years PQE). This is a unique opportunity that can be based in either their Gold Coast (Ashmore) or Melbourne offices, offering a clear and transparent pathway to progress your career within a firm currently experiencing a major growth phase.

Reporting directly to a highly regarded Practice Director, you will step into a sophisticated, well-established pipeline of work where 90% of the mandates are business-to-business (B2B) property transactions. This role is designed for a commercially minded lawyer who values direct client interaction and is ready to take true carriage of their own matters from Day 1, backed by a supportive and collaborative national team.

Key Responsibilities
  • B2B Property Transactions: Take lead carriage of a diverse range of commercial property matters, with a heavy focus on business-to-business transactions, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • Commercial Leasing: Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated commercial and retail leases, acting for corporate landlords and commercial tenants.
  • Property Development: Assist on mid-to-large scale development projects, including advising on joint venture agreements, development agreements, and master contracts.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for corporate clients, business owners, and developers, maintaining high levels of direct interaction.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough commercial property due diligence and provide practical, solutions-driven risk assessments.

About You
  • Experience: 2–5 years of Post-Admission Experience (PQE) specializing in property law within an Australian private practice environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of commercial property transactions, titles, and leasing structures, with excellent drafting and negotiation capabilities.
  • Commercial Mindset: A sharp business acumen with the ability to look beyond black-letter law to understand the commercial drivers of B2B transactions.
  • Attributes: An organized, proactive professional who enjoys client engagement, thrives when given autonomy, and works effectively across a national office structure.

The Environment & Benefits This firm has built an enviable reputation for combining expert legal advice with a modern, people-first approach to private practice.
  • Sustainable Performance: A highly manageable workload of just 5 billable hours a day, with standard working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Flexibility & Hybrid Work: Maintain an excellent work-life balance with 1 day WFH per week alongside flexible working hours tailored for parents.
  • Unique Rewards & Bonuses: Standout incentives including fuel vouchers, paid holidays (provided in lieu of paying tax on a traditional bonus), and leased cars for top performers.
  • Culture & Community: Join a great social team that is highly collaborative and actively involved in local community events.
  • Career Trajectory: Because the firm is in a distinct national growth phase, there are genuine, fast-tracked opportunities to progress into senior leadership roles.
