Senior Associate – Property, Planning & Projects

About the Role
I am currently partnering with a highly-regarded, multi-award-winning commercial firm in Sydney to find a bright, motivated, and client-focused Senior Associate (8+ years PQE) to join their thriving Property, Planning and Projects team.

Working directly with two supportive and accessible Partners, this is a broad and autonomous role where you can truly own your space. You will handle complex, bespoke matters for a premium client base spanning corporates, high-net-worth individuals, developers, and government entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Leasing: Review, draft, and negotiate complex agreements for lease, commercial/industrial leases, and all ancillary documentation.

  • Transactions: Advise vendors and purchasers across a broad range of high-value commercial, industrial, and rural property sales and acquisitions.

  • Development Projects: Act on major residential, commercial, and land subdivision projects, including drafting development agreements, joint venture agreements, and access licences.

  • Title Structuring: Handle complex title structuring, easements, covenants, and restrictions on use.

  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough property due diligence for major transactions.

About You

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a technically astute property lawyer handling complex and bespoke files.

  • Skills: Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, high attention to detail, and top-tier time management capabilities.

  • Systems: Intermediate MS Office skills are essential. Experience with practice management systems like Affinity or FileSite is a major plus (though full training is provided).

  • Mindset: An enthusiastic, driven professional with a client-first approach who is ready to step into a leadership space within the team.

The Firm & Culture
This firm genuinely stands out in the Sydney market for putting its people first. They have built an enduring, respectful culture centered on well-being, where lawyers are rewarded for their efforts and given the space to evolve professionally.

Through their exclusive global alliance network, they also offer the distinct advantage of working on international mandates while maintaining the agile, warm environment of a leading mid-tier firm.

Culture & Benefits

  • Health & Well-being: In-house yoga, gym/wellness financial contributions, flu shots, and various health initiatives.

  • Financial Protection: Salary continuance insurance included in your package.

  • Flexibility: Genuine hybrid work arrangements and the option to utilize a purchased leave scheme.

  • Professional Growth: Transparent career progression and an annual legal allowance.

  • Social Scene: A highly collaborative environment with regular team-building, social events, and a strong Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
