Top-Tier Global Firm | US-Level Remuneration | Market-Leading Mandates
Are you a high-performing Restructuring or Leveraged Finance lawyer looking to step away from litigation and into the world of elite, front-end transactional workouts?
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the world’s most integrated global law firms. Working directly under two of the market's most respected practitioners, you will handle high-stakes, "front-end" restructuring matters that define the Australian and international landscape.
Premium Compensation: Move onto a US-level salary scale—significantly above the standard Australian market rate.
Global Reach: Work on "One Firm Worldwide" mandates, collaborating across borders on complex cross-border restructurings (including Chapter 11/15 components).
True Front-End Focus: This is a purely transactional role. No litigation.
Defined Progression: Clear, merit-based pathway to Senior Counsel.
Balanced High-Performance: Sustainable billable targets (7 hours per day) with a standard 8:30 am – 6:00 pm rhythm.
Acting for a sophisticated client base—including private credit funds, ad hoc creditor groups, and boards of distressed corporates—you will focus on the strategic and documentary side of insolvency and restructuring.
Key Responsibilities:
Transactional Restructuring: Structuring and documenting debt-for-equity swaps and "amend and extend" transactions.
Distressed M&A: Advising on the acquisition/sale of distressed assets, including credit bidding.
Private Credit & Finance: Working with sophisticated lenders on structured finance and senior secured notes.
Strategic Advisory: Providing Safe Harbour advice to boards and navigating complex voluntary administration processes.
We are looking for a technically gifted lawyer who thrives in a commercial, high-stakes environment.
Must-Have Criteria:
3–8 years PQE within a top-tier restructuring, insolvency, or leveraged finance team.
Purely Transactional Focus: You must have a strong background in "front-end" work; this role does not involve litigation.
Academic Excellence: Distinction-level transcripts are essential.
Technical Depth: Comprehensive knowledge of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and safe harbour regimes.
WFH Flexibility: 1 day per week (following probation).
Parental Leave: 16 weeks of paid leave.
Collaborative Environment: Join a team that prioritizes professional development and offers significant autonomy on landmark matters.
If you are ready to transition into an elite global practice that rewards technical excellence with US-level compensation, please apply with your CV.
