An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Trust Accounts Officer to join a well-established and highly regarded professional services firm based in the heart of the Melbourne CBD.

This role will suit a detail-driven trust accounting professional who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and working closely with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.


The Opportunity

Reporting to senior management, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the firm’s trust accounting function, ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations and providing guidance to internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Full management of trust accounts in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations

  • Processing receipts, payments, transfers, and trust reconciliations

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly trust account reconciliations

  • Managing trust account audits and liaising with external auditors

  • Monitoring compliance and implementing best-practice trust procedures

  • Providing guidance and support to legal and finance staff on trust matters

  • Identifying and resolving trust discrepancies promptly and accurately


About You

  • Proven experience in a Senior Trust Accounts Officer or similar role

  • Strong working knowledge of trust accounting legislation and compliance requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Confident communicator able to liaise with auditors and senior stakeholders

  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team

  • Experience within a legal or professional services environment is highly regarded
