Associate – Corporate & Commercial (Tax Focus) | Brisbane

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a highly regarded and rapidly growing Taxation team within a broader Corporate & Commercial practice. This role is ideal for a lawyer looking to deepen their tax expertise while maintaining exposure to complex commercial work in a genuinely merit-based environment.

The role

You will advise government and commercial clients across a diverse range of taxation and structuring matters, including:

  • Strategic tax advice across income tax, GST, land tax, payroll tax and stamp duty

  • Drafting and advising on complex trust structures, trust deeds, and wills & estates matters

  • Applying broader commercial experience (e.g. M&A, property, transactions or litigation) in a specialist tax context

  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team capability and growth


About you

You will ideally have:

  • 3–5 years PAE

  • Experience in income tax and/or state taxes, or a strong desire to develop in these areas

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills

  • A genuine interest in tax, structuring and commercial outcomes

  • Broader legal experience beyond tax (e.g. corporate, property, commercial or litigation)
