About the Opportunity

A premier international law firm is seeking a talented Associate with 2–3 years post-qualification experience to join its highly regarded IPTech (Technology, Communications & Commercial) practice in Sydney.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with market-leading clients on complex, high-value transactions in the digital, technology, telecommunications, and media sectors. The role offers the chance to be involved in cutting-edge legal work across technology procurement, commercial contracting, digital regulation, privacy, outsourcing, and telecommunications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of technology and commercial agreements

  • Advising on technology and digital procurement transactions, outsourcing arrangements, and regulatory matters

  • Supporting clients on privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, and media law issues

  • Collaborating with a cross-border team on multi-jurisdictional matters

  • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 2–3 years’ experience in technology, telecommunications or commercial law (experience at a top-tier or international firm highly regarded)

  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating technology contracts and advising on procurement/supply arrangements

  • Exposure to digital, telecommunications or broadcasting regulations (desirable but not essential)

  • Strong technical legal skills, commercial acumen and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication, drafting and research skills

  • Client-focused with a proactive and collaborative approach

  • Legally qualified in Australia (or equivalent), with current practising certificate or ability to obtain one
