Associate – Technology, Communications & Commercial (2–3 Years PQE)
About the Opportunity
A premier international law firm is seeking a talented Associate with 2–3 years post-qualification experience to join its highly regarded IPTech (Technology, Communications & Commercial) practice in Sydney.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with market-leading clients on complex, high-value transactions in the digital, technology, telecommunications, and media sectors. The role offers the chance to be involved in cutting-edge legal work across technology procurement, commercial contracting, digital regulation, privacy, outsourcing, and telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of technology and commercial agreements
Advising on technology and digital procurement transactions, outsourcing arrangements, and regulatory matters
Supporting clients on privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, and media law issues
Collaborating with a cross-border team on multi-jurisdictional matters
Maintaining and developing strong client relationships
Ideal Candidate Profile
2–3 years’ experience in technology, telecommunications or commercial law (experience at a top-tier or international firm highly regarded)
Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating technology contracts and advising on procurement/supply arrangements
Exposure to digital, telecommunications or broadcasting regulations (desirable but not essential)
Strong technical legal skills, commercial acumen and attention to detail
Excellent communication, drafting and research skills
Client-focused with a proactive and collaborative approach
Legally qualified in Australia (or equivalent), with current practising certificate or ability to obtain one
