An excellent opportunity is available for an insurance lawyer at Solicitor, Associate or Senior Associate level to join a highly regarded Sydney Statutory Classes team acting for insurers and government bodies across a diverse range of personal injury matters.

This is a rare chance to build deep expertise across both statutory and litigated work, within a supportive, open-door team environment.


The Opportunity

You will join a well-established Sydney insurance practice group with a strong pipeline of work and a close-knit team structure.

The practice acts across:

  • Work Injury Damages (WID) claims

  • Statutory workers compensation matters

  • Broader defendant insurance litigation

  • High-volume advisory and complex dispute work

This role offers genuine variety — blending strategic advice, client-facing engagement and regular advocacy opportunities.

You will work directly with senior practitioners who are known for mentoring and supporting lawyers at every level.


Key Responsibilities

Your work will include a mix of advice-based and litigation matters such as:

  • Reviewing files and drafting advice on liability and damages

  • Conducting client consultations and conferences

  • Appearing in proceedings before:

    • Personal Injury Commission

    • District Court

    • Supreme Court

  • Drafting correspondence and instructions to:

    • Medical experts

    • Liability experts

    • Factual investigators

  • Supporting clients through complex statutory frameworks and dispute pathways


About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in Work Injury Damages, statutory workers compensation or broader defendant insurance matters

  • Ability to manage files independently with appropriate supervision

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills

  • A consultative, client-focused communication style

  • Excellent relationship-building capability and team orientation

  • Strong drafting and analytical skills with attention to detail
