Associate / Senior Associate – Insurance (Statutory Classes)

This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance lawyer to broaden their experience within a growing Statutory Classes practice at a national firm operating under a genuine meritocracy model. Progression is based on contribution and performance rather than rigid hierarchy.
The team is seeking Solicitors, Associates or Senior Associates to join its Sydney-based Insurance Statutory Classes practice, working closely with insurer and government clients across Work Injury Damages and statutory workers compensation matters. The practice offers a strong mix of advisory and litigation work, providing exposure to a diverse and engaging caseload.
Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing files and preparing advice on liability and damages
Conducting client consultations and conferences
Appearing before the Personal Injury Commission, District Court and Supreme Court
Drafting correspondence and letters of instruction to medical, liability and factual experts
You will work closely with senior practitioners in a collaborative environment that supports mentoring, autonomy and professional growth.
About you:
Experience in Work Injury Damages, statutory workers compensation or broader defendant insurance work
Ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
A consultative, client-focused communication style
Excellent drafting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
