Workers Compensation Lawyer/Associate (Syd)

Associate / Lawyer | Defendant Workers Compensation

Are you a Workers Compensation Lawyer looking for a firm that actually delivers on its "culture" promises? Join one of Sydney’s most highly regarded Insurance practices and take the next step in your career within a supportive, high-performing environment.

Due to a strong, consistent workflow and an expanding client list—including major insurers and government panels—the team is looking for an ambitious Associate or Lawyer to round out their specialist insurance division.

Why this role?

  • Mentorship & Growth: Work directly under a leadership team of three Partners and an experienced Head of Insurance. This isn't just a "file-running" role; you’ll receive active mentoring and a clear, transparent pathway for progression.

  • Balance that Works: Enjoy a true 8:30 am – 5:00 pm workday and the flexibility of 1–2 days WFH per week.

  • Top-Tier Benefits: Access a generous 20-week paid parental leave policy, a discretionary bonus scheme, and a comprehensive wellness program including free fitness classes.

  • High-Quality Work: Manage a diverse portfolio across workers compensation, dust diseases, statutory disputes, and damages claims for an enviable list of employer and government clients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Running end-to-end Workers Compensation matters under Partner supervision.

  • Managing a strong file load while maintaining high levels of technical accuracy.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with sophisticated insurer and employer clients.

  • Collaborating with a structured team of Senior Counsel and Senior Associates.

About You

We are looking for a focused professional who understands the nuances of the NSW insurance landscape.

  • Experience: 2+ years PQE (or equivalent experience) within an Insurer, Defendant, or Plaintiff firm.

  • Technical Knowledge: Prior experience in Workers Compensation (WC) or CTP is essential for understanding file progression and statutory frameworks.

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize under pressure, and a genuine interest in understanding your clients' businesses.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills are a must for high-level reporting and advocacy.

The Firm

Recognized as a 2024 Employer of Choice, this firm prides itself on being down-to-earth yet high-performing. They offer a "flex policy" that genuinely supports work-life balance and a social calendar that keeps the team connected.

How to Apply: If you are looking for a progressive firm that will nurture your talent rather than just burn you out, please submit your CV for a confidential discussion.
