About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary with experience in workers compensation matters to support a senior lawyer in a busy and dynamic legal practice. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of client files and the efficient day-to-day functioning of the practice.
This position provides the opportunity to work closely with a highly respected partner known for his compassionate and strategic approach to client advocacy, particularly in the complex area of workers compensation claims.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level administrative support to a partner specialising in workers compensation law
Prepare and manage legal documents including statements, briefs, and court forms
Schedule and manage appointments, client conferences, and court dates
Liaise with clients, medical professionals, insurers, and court staff
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in legal practice management systems
File court documents and monitor case progression through relevant jurisdictions
Assist with the preparation of correspondence and reports
Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience as a legal secretary, preferably within personal injury or workers compensation law
Strong understanding of the NSW workers compensation claims process and relevant legal procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Proficiency in legal practice management software (e.g., LEAP or similar)
A client-focused attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
